7.2.22 - Might the first pangs humans appreciating beauty been seeing the crescent moon 🌙?
6.3.22 - Reinventing orgs to stop widespread org footshooting. Designing edutaining reading retreats to really deep dive into something you read to have joyful aha moments. Dialogue practice for improving the conversations we use to digest and deep dive into a reading with others. Flow as a meta frame for better understanding goals, priorities, and the footshooting water we’re all swimming in. Humanity’s collective future The Precipice and “The Long Reflection” Toby Ord advises + The World without Capital and the humanism that Albert Wenger advises + Frederic Lalaoux’s The Week for climate change.
6.2.22 - I’m going to get down on paper more explicitly what a learning experience looks like and feels like along with the process for designing one.
6.2.22 - Reinventing Orgs (the book) + rebooting Infinite Friend/reading retreats. Getting down to the essence using Laloux’s questions in the Starting a Teal Org Chapter. My thoughts: https://bit.ly/3GKfMJb
5.31.22 - I want to connect adjunct professors, independent book stores, readers to create great conversations and deeper learnings from the books we read.
5.31.22 - I started Laurus today with Dr Michael Ossorgin. We are curious to test the rumors that Vodolazkin is carrying the Dostoevsky torch into the modern world. This gets me excited. We’re going to do a mini book club session on it just he and I and we’ll aim to record it. It’ll likely be the first I record and share via youtube and maybe a podcast app. We’ll see about the latter.
5.25.22 - For a post on the purpose of my reading retreat side project Infinite Friend I’ve been trying to take my own wants out of it and boil the purpose of starting it down to its essence. I’m left with joy. The joy of an aha moment. The joy of a beautiful place to visit and dialogue in. The joy of a great and illuminating conversation.
Can one create net new joy? Like with the law of conservation of energy or mass. Is there more or less joy possible?
5.15.22 - I’m thinking about proposing a no meeting week for thinking and deep focus and nothing else. Feels like it could be cool.
